WOMEN’S RODEO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL ATHLETE ROSTER announced FOR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND AT AT&T STADIUM
In anticipation of the upcoming 2024 Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC), the World’s Richest Women’s Rodeo Championship Round, taking place May 18 at AT&T Stadium, the organization has released the final list of 21 female rodeo athletes who will be competing in the event.
The fifth edition of the $750,000 WRWC, which is the largest event purse in the history of women’s rodeo will begin its final day on May 18 inside the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys alongside the 2024 PBR World Finals Championship. The championship round will begin with six team ropers (three headers and three heelers), three breakaway ropers and 12 barrel racers and will crown a WRWC event champion in each discipline, with the victors earning the lion’s share of the historic $750,000 purse.
The breakaway roster is highlighted by 2024 All-Around Cowgirl, Martha Angelone (Stephenville, Texas). Angelone earned the ultimate cowgirl accolade by accumulating WRWC leaderboard points, then putting an exclamation point on the world all-around race with an impressive showing at the 2024 WRWC. With now over $200,000 in WRWC earnings alone, Martha is one of the winningest cowgirls in the event’s brief history. In 2023, she won $89,400 and has earned another $30,000 this year. She will go head-to-head with Jordan Jo Hollabaugh (Springtown, Texas) and 18-year-old Amy Ohrt (Victoria, Texas).
Angelone has won four WRWC titles so far. She won the first championship in 2022 in an intense breakaway roping competition, which is considered one of the most ferocious battles in WRWC history. She implemented the first and last tie-breaker decision during the championship. In 2023, she won two more titles—one for heading and another for the world all-around crown.
Angelone will be joined by 2023 WRWC Heading Champion Megan Gunter (Mccammon, Idaho) and teen barrel racing phenomenon, Makenzie Mayes (Scroggins, Texas). Backed by a dominant showing, including the fastest time of the week, 20-year-old Barrel Racer Makenzie Mayes was on a mission and surged to the top of the challenger leaderboard courtesy of her win in Round Two and the Semi-Finals Round. Mayes set the arena record for the pattern while sitting atop Chicado Moon.

Each WRWC Event Champion will take home a minimum of $60,000, while the All-Around Champion will collect a $20,000 cash bonus. The WRWC is a culmination of a year-long race of women’s rodeo events worldwide.

The landmark event’s Championship Round on May 18 from AT&T Stadium will then be featured LIVE on CBS Sports Network during the telecast for the PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast Championship.
The 2024 Women’s Rodeo World Championship event is part of the second Women’s Week—the richest women’s-only week of competition in Western sports, held during the 2024 PBR World Finals. The more than week-long schedule of events is slated to pay out $1.145 million in prize money, affording more than 800 women’s competitors the chance to compete for life-changing payouts.
