WCRA AND PBR ANNOUNCE NEW DATE FOR WOMEN’S RODEO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WITH FINAL ROUND BROADCAST ON CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

August 5, 2021 Posted by Kyle Jones Uncategorized

World Championship Event Set to Now Take Place October 26-29; Final Round Broadcast on the CBS Television Network Set for Sunday, Oct. 31

The WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) and PBR (Professional Bull Riders) announced a date change to the 2021 Women’s Rodeo World Championship (WRWC). The event, which is set to again be the largest payout in the history of women’s rodeo, will now take place October 26-29 and still be hosted in Las Vegas at the South Point Arena.

The CBS Television Network will then broadcast the final round of the 2021 WRWC on Sunday, Oct. 31.

“Women’s rodeo is one of the fastest-growing sports in America that PBR enthusiastically supports,” said Sean Gleason, Commissioner and CEO, PBR.  “Scheduling the WRWC on CBS Television Network in a highly visible Sunday afternoon Fall window is a very big milestone for women’s rodeo that will help create even more new fans.”

WCRA also announced that the event format, the payout, and the location will all remain the same as previously announced.

The world championship event is open to any female athlete ages 13 and up competing in breakaway roping, barrel racing, team roping and will award a $750,000 guaranteed payout with equal money in all four disciplines. The event will also award a Women’s Rodeo All-Around Champion – a $20,000 cash bonus. Each discipline champion will walk away from the world champion event with $60,000 each.

Nominations for the 2021 Women’s Rodeo World Championship Leaderboard are now open and will close October 3 at 11:59 p.m. CT.
